Books fascinated me long before I learned to read. As a child, I would spend hours flipping through pages, creating stories that matched the pictures, feeling completely content with a good book by my side. That love for books never faded. Even today, I am irresistibly drawn to their look, texture, and even scent, in a way I can only describe as instinctive.
Like most people, I cannot be everywhere or do everything. However, I can pick up a book and allow it to broaden my horizons, introducing me to people, places, and ideas I might not otherwise discover. In that sense, books are some of the most generous companions.
During my visits to what I call paradise, my local bookstores, I would always look for unique, book-themed items to take home. Yet, I was nearly always disappointed. The items were usually generic, uninspired, or simply not of the quality I expected.
I realized I could not be the only one feeling this way. When I searched for meaningful, book-inspired merchandise and came up empty, I knew others likely felt the same.
